last weekend was a good one. got to go to both the orphanage, one the Agathians in PJ. (checked out their website.) the house is run by a group of volunteers. they're working with Auditing firm, thus they got ample time to engaged with the kids, after the audting period.

there's a lot of stories every orphanage carries. i see the orphanage as a place to save one's soul. not only for the children as physical shelter... fulfilling the basic need of a child, food, place to stay, roof under their head... but it's also their family.

it's also a place to save the soul that longing to see humanity, unconditional love between human beings... i felt deeply touch of one of the newcomer there.. he;s really a handsome young boy. just recently enrolled, about 2 1/2 years old. just all smile, but can see in his eyes, he's lost without his parents. but other 'siblings' there, so loving, sharing the broken toys with him. (talking about broken toys, i'm would like to check with all you kind readers, whomever have toys that your children no longer playing with, if you would like to donate it to them, kindly contact me, you can drop a message in the comment section).

basically our company want to sincerely help those orphanages. we're not talking about occasional help, during raya or something like that, not a one-time-visit as well, we're actually trying to help them by supplying rice for them for the whole year. hopefully by doing so, the money their using for the rice, could be used for some other things especially related to the kids' education.

the other orphanage
rumah tumpangan anak2 yatim dan ibu tunggal. this place it's not so much of an orphanage, but Hajah Hlijah, gathers all the kids with single parents in Kampung Medan, and feed them, gather them during weekend, to avoid the loitering around unsupervised. there's also some new children, a siblings of two. the father just recently died, so the mother have to work to support the family, it was the first day of the kids there, the kid sister was crying, trying to adapt to new 'family'. the rest seemed already comfortable with Hajah's house. they recite Quran in the morning, and doing their homework, and then play together.

oh well, one of our colleagues is actually one of the host of a tv show called 'Bang Bang Boom', some of the kiddies there knew him, thus he kinda be our informal mascot and entertainer of the day! eheh the kids ask us to come again soon, and organise a game or something, just for them to have fun together. as for Agathians, they're well organized, as the volunteers are all professionals. as for Rumah Tumpangan Hajah Halijah, that auntie is just a makcik that used to be an orphan as well long time ago, she doesn't want to leave those kids un-protected, un-supervised, so she just sacrifice her own personal home as the Rumah Tumpangan.

as mentioned earlier, we're going to that two orphanages times to times. if you have any clothes, school's books, toys, for kids from 3 years old to 12, boys and girls, that you would like to donate to this two orphanages, do drop me a line. maybe i can help extend the donation to them.
